This Usage Guide serves as a supplemental document that explains the contents of the Nekowemon Character Licensing Service Terms of Use in an easy-to-understand manner.
Together with the Terms of Use, the “Chapter 0: How Character Licensing Works,” and the Q&A, this Guide forms part of the character licensing documentation.
Overview of the Licensing Structure
The Nekowemon Character Licensing service consists of a three-layer structure:
1．Basic License (Foundation for all uses)
2．Extended Licenses (For advertising, monetization, and expanded uses)
3．Project Licenses (For uses involving the production of deliverables)
Licenses are combined depending on the intended use.
Basic License
The Basic License is the foundational license for all types of character use.
It allows planning, creative production (images, videos), and communication through SNS, websites, and similar media.

・Planning, ideation, and preparation of presentation materials
・Production of visuals using the characters
・Posting on SNS or websites
・Video posting
・Minor monetization through automatic ads
・Simple POP applications such as pricing displays or in-store signage

1-year contract (auto-renewed)
Extended Licenses
Extended Licenses expand the permitted scope of the Basic License.
Extended Licenses cannot be used independently and must always be combined with the Basic License.
● Advertising Promotion License
This license permits the distribution and placement of advertising creatives that use the characters.
Advertising creatives may be produced within the scope of the Basic License.
When placing advertisements, each creative requires prior application and review.

・Distribution using advertising placements (e.g., social media ads, web ads, etc.)
・Requests for placement on third-party media
・Sponsored posts requested from influencers
・Use of PR distribution services, etc.

＊ Up to 3 creatives per month are reviewed free of charge under the flat-rate plan.
● Content Monetization License
This license allows the continuous and commercial monetization of digital content using the characters on external platforms.

・Video ad revenue
・Subscription-based content
・Continuous online broadcasting, etc.

[ Term ]
1-year contract (auto-renewed)
Project Licenses
Project Licenses are licenses that allow you to create deliverables using the characters and to sell, distribute, display, or use them in events and similar activities.
Within this service, we use the category “Project License” as a convenient way to organize and manage the terms of character usage based on the content of the deliverables, the manner of use, and the period of use.
However, there is no need for you to be concerned with the specific license name itself.
Definition of Deliverables (Important)
A “deliverable” is managed on a design / specification basis, not by quantity.
If multiple copies of the same design / specification are produced or installed, they are treated as a single deliverable in principle.
Product bodies, packaging, and promotional materials are treated as separate deliverables.
Application and Review
When using a Project License, each deliverable requires prior application and review.

Details of Each Project License
● Product Commercialization Project License
This license permits the manufacture and sale of physical products using the characters
(e.g., toys, figures, miscellaneous goods)
JPY 30,000 per Character (excluding tax)
[ Royalty ]
3% of shipping value
[ Minimum Guarantee (MG) ]
JPY 10,000 (excluding tax)
＊ Applied when the royalty amount is less than JPY 10,000 (excluding tax).

3-month units (renewable)
● Digital Commercialization Project License
This license permits the sale or distribution of digital products using the characters
(e.g., digital trading cards, wallpapers, in-app content)
[ Fee ]
JPY 30,000 per Character (excluding tax)
[ Royalty ]
Digital products:
3% of sales amount
Digital products requiring a Content Monetization License:
5%+ of sales amount
[ Minimum Guarantee (MG) ]
JPY 10,000 (excluding tax)
＊ Applied when the royalty amount is less than JPY 10,000 (excluding tax).

3-month units (renewable)

● Event Project License
This license permits the display or installation of deliverables using the characters at exhibitions, fairs, and limited-time events

● Permanent Display Project License
This license permits the permanent or continuous display/installation of deliverables using the characters within stores or facilities
