Fan Art Guidelines

Thank you for supporting the “Nekowemon Characters.”
To allow more fans and creators to enjoy our characters, we permit personal free use of the characters under certain conditions. By creating or publishing fan art or UGC using Nekowemon characters, you are deemed to have agreed to our “Fan Art / UGC Terms of Use”.

You can find the characters available for Fan Art / UGC in the “Yuru-chara Encyclopedia”.

If you wish to use the characters for commercial purposes, please be sure to check our Official License Page.

What You Can Do for Free

　• Use characters on personal websites or blogs
　• Post illustrations, videos, or cosplay of characters on social media
　• Fan art and other personal hobby activities
　• Non-commercial doujinshi (fan-made books) or fan goods distribution
　　　o Only when the cost recovery is limited to production (printing, materials, event fees, etc.)
　　　o This use is allowed only for individuals who have completed UGC Creator Registration
　　　o If profits are generated, a commercial license is required
　• Creation of free, non-commercial games by individuals or fan circles, without advertisements or in-app purchases
　o This includes web browser games, lightweight mobile games, and small indie mini-games
　o Limited strictly to personal projects or small-scale fan (doujin) groups
　　o Distribution of games in downloadable format is not permitted
　　　o Games must be published only in a format that can be played in a web browser
　　　o Examples of hosting platforms include: itch.io, Newgrounds, Game Jolt, GitHub Pages, or personal websites
　　o The finished game must be distributed for free (paid distribution is not allowed)
　o You are free to create original stories, scenes, animations, and gameplay within the game
　o If the game contains advertisements (e.g., AdMob), in-app purchases, or any form of paid content, it will be considered commercial use, and a separate license agreement is required
　• Monetized video content (YouTube, TikTok, etc.)
　　　o Allowed for personal channels operated by registered UGC creators only
　　　o Corporate or business channels are excluded
　• Event and social media announcements
　　　o Such as “new work is ready” or “participating in an event”
　　　o Large-scale paid advertising or sponsored promotions are not allowed

Whenever possible, please add credit (e.g., © Nekowemon), link to the official website, or include hashtags (e.g., #nekowemon #fanart).

Prohibited Uses

　• Infringement of third-party copyrights or trademarks
　• Commercial use by companies or organizations (product sales, advertising, monetized media)
　• Use for ideological, political, religious, or anti-social activities
　• Obscene, discriminatory, or otherwise offensive content
　• Use that significantly damages brand value
　• Large-scale advertising or paid promotions
　• LINE stickers, themes, or other platform-based sales
　　　o Considered commercial use regardless of revenue size
　• Minting, selling, or distributing works as NFTs
　　　o Even free distribution is considered commercial due to possible secondary sales
　• Creation, distribution, or sale of 3D models using platforms such as Roblox, VRChat, Unity, etc.
　　　 o This includes UGC items such as avatars, outfits, accessories, and character parts
　• Use of the characters within Roblox games, including any form of game implementation
　　　 o This includes avatar usage, in-game character appearance, stage placement, or any game-related integration
　• Generation of 3D data, including AI-generated models, and providing such data to others
　　　 o Conversion into formats such as VRM, FBX, etc. is also prohibited

We value fan art and UGC created by our fans. The characters may not be generated using AI.

About User-Generated Content (UGC)

At Nekowemon, we welcome fan-created fan art and UGC (user-generated content). As long as the use is non-commercial and personal in nature, creators may create and publish UGC provided that they agree to the Terms of Use.

Non-commercial UGC refers to fan art, videos, translations, memes, and similar works created as personal or hobby-based activities.

About UGC Creator Registration

When engaging in UGC activities using Nekowemon characters, creators are generally required to complete UGC Creator Registration.

Registered creators will receive access to detailed creator guidelines, information on step-up programs, and invitations to the Discord Creator Community.

About Commercial Use

If you wish to use the characters for sales, advertising, or any for-profit purpose, a paid license contract is required.
We also provide simplified license plans for sole proprietors and small businesses.
