Chapter 1: Companies Are Creators

Why Create a Company Original Character?

The purpose of creating a Company Original Character is for a company to become a creator in the Nekowemon Universe and create its own unique world and stories (Lore).

Companies are free to engage in a wide variety of creative activities, including short animations, comics, Roblox content, character merchandise, and events, creating new forms of communication that connect companies and consumers.

Within the Nekowemon Universe, community creators engage in their own unique creative activities, such as short animations, comics, and illustrations, while making use of Official Characters.

As creators in the Nekowemon Universe, companies can also enjoy creative activities alongside community creators by using both their Company Original Characters and Official Characters.

A Company Original Character is more than just a corporate mascot.

It is a character that expands new stories (Lore) as a resident of the Nekowemon Universe.

As the Nekowemon Universe continues to grow, Company Original Characters will also become more widely recognized and loved as fellow Nekowemon characters, creating new Brand Experiences and stronger connections with fans that cannot be achieved by companies alone.

Start with Small Creative Activities

Creative activities using Company Original Characters do not have to begin with large-scale projects.

Companies are free to start with small stories (Lore), such as short animations and four-panel comics.

Of course, creative expressions that do not involve a story, such as animated dance videos and illustrations, are also part of creative activities.

By continuing these creative activities, each story builds upon the last, gradually expanding into the company’s own unique worlds and stories.

By continuing creative activities at their own pace, companies can build their own unique worlds and stories within the Nekowemon Universe.

Chapter 2: Nekowemon Universe

What is the Nekowemon Universe?

The Nekowemon Universe is the world where Nekowemon characters live.

This world is home not only to Official Characters, but also to Company Original Characters and characters created by creators. They each develop their own unique worlds and stories (Lore) within the Nekowemon Universe.

By adopting the Unified Cat-Face Design Identity, Company Original Character becomes fellow Nekowemon characters and can participate in a wide variety of creative activities as a resident of the Nekowemon Universe.

The Nekowemon Universe does not have a predetermined storyline.

Companies and creators are free to create their own worlds and stories (Lore), and can develop a wide range of creative activities through short animations, comics, Roblox content, events, and more.

Each creator’s worlds and stories coexist within the Nekowemon Universe while respecting one another.

Connect with Creators Around the World

Within the Nekowemon Universe, community creators engage in a wide variety of creative activities, such as short animations, comics, and illustrations, while making use of Official Characters.

As creators in the Nekowemon Universe, companies can also enjoy creative activities alongside creators from around the world by using both their Company Original Characters and Official Characters.

As each creator’s worlds and stories (Lore) continue to grow, the Nekowemon Universe continues to expand little by little.

Chapter 3: 100 Creator 100 World

Each Creator Creates Their Own World

At Nekowemon, we embrace the concept of “100 Creator 100 World.”

This concept is based on the idea that each creator creates their own unique worlds and stories (Lore).

Using their own Company Original Characters, companies are free to create worlds and stories that are uniquely their own.

Creative activities can begin with small stories, such as short animations and four-panel comics.

By continuing creative activities through character merchandise, Roblox content, events, and more, a company’s unique worlds and stories continue to expand.

The concept of 100 Creator 100 World does not require every creator to share the same worlds or stories.

Instead, each creator’s worlds and stories coexist within the Nekowemon Universe while respecting one another.

In this way, as many creators each create their own unique worlds and stories, the Nekowemon Universe continues to grow little by little.

Chapter 4: Company Original Characters

What is a Company Original Character?

A Company Original Character is a unique Nekowemon character created by a company.

By adopting the Unified Cat-Face Design Identity, a Company Original Character becomes a resident of the Nekowemon Universe, becomes a fellow Nekowemon character, and can develop a wide variety of stories.

A company is free to define the character’s personality, world, and stories (Lore).

A company may also create multiple Company Original Characters.

By giving each character a unique personality and role, companies can expand their creative activities and build richer forms of communication.

Chapter 5: Creative Activities Using Company Original Characters

Creating Brand Experiences Through Creative Activities

Company Original Characters can be used in a wide variety of creative activities, including short animations, comics, character merchandise, Roblox content, and events.

There is no fixed style for creative activities. Companies are free to create a wide variety of content, including short comics and animations depicting everyday moments, illustrations, and dance videos featuring their characters.

These creative activities go beyond simply introducing products or services. They continuously communicate the world of a company or brand while creating new forms of communication that connect companies and consumers.

What Is a Brand Experience?

A Brand Experience is an experience in which consumers can enjoy, connect with, and become more familiar with a company’s or brand’s world through creative activities such as short animations, comics, character merchandise, Roblox content, and events.

Each creative activity becomes a point of connection between companies and consumers, fostering ongoing communication while deepening consumers’ familiarity with and emotional connection to the company or brand.

At Nekowemon, we provide a framework that enables companies to deliver ongoing Brand Experiences to consumers through these creative activities.

Using Official Characters

The Nekowemon Universe is home to Official Characters and many other Nekowemon characters.

Companies are free to engage in creative activities using not only their Company Original Characters but also Official Characters.

Through collaborations with Official Characters, Company Original Characters come to be recognized by consumers as fellow Nekowemon characters.

Official Characters do not have predetermined stories.

Collaborations with Official Characters inspire creators and consumers to freely imagine new stories.

New encounters and stories (Lore) with Official Characters expand worlds and stories that cannot be created by Company Original Characters alone.

These collaborations create Brand Experiences unique to Nekowemon, allowing consumers to further enjoy and connect with the world of a company or brand while feeling closer to the company or brand.

Chapter 6: Creating Company Original Characters

Freely Create Characters That Reflect Your Company

Each company is responsible for creating its own Company Original Characters. Characters may be created in-house or commissioned from illustrators, design agencies, or other professional creators.

A Company Original Character does not have to be based on a company’s brand, products, or services. Companies are also free to incorporate their own original ideas and unique worlds into the character.

A character’s personality, occupation, hobbies, special talents, place of residence, and other attributes may also be freely defined to match the company’s concept.

However, Company Original Characters are residents of the Nekowemon Universe and fellow Nekowemon characters.

Therefore, Company Original Characters must be created in accordance with the rules of the Unified Cat-Face Design Identity.

The Unified Cat-Face Design Identity represents the shared design characteristics that make a character recognizable as a Nekowemon. It includes not only facial features such as the eyes, nose, and mouth, but also the overall appearance and impression of the character.

By following these design rules, Company Original Characters can each express their own unique personalities and worlds while together forming a unified Nekowemon brand as fellow Nekowemon characters.

Once a Company Original Character has been registered, it can officially participate as a resident of the Nekowemon Universe and as a fellow Nekowemon character.

Chapter 7: Registering Company Original Characters

Registering as a Resident of the Nekowemon Universe

To enable a Company Original Character to participate as a resident of the Nekowemon Universe and as a fellow Nekowemon character, prior project approval and character registration are required.

During the registration process, we verify that the Company Original Character has been created in accordance with the rules of the Unified Cat-Face Design Identity.

The registration fee includes design supervision. When necessary, we will provide recommendations for design adjustments and improvements.

This process ensures that while respecting the individuality of each Company Original Character, the unified identity of the Nekowemon brand as a whole is maintained.

Once registration is complete, a Company Original Character officially becomes a resident of the Nekowemon Universe and can be used in a wide variety of creative activities, including short animations, comics, character merchandise, Roblox content, and events.

Registration Fee

• JPY 30,000 per character (excluding tax)
• The registration fee includes design supervision.

Registration is required for each individual character. If a company creates multiple Company Original Characters, each character must be registered separately.

Chapter 8: Expanding into Roblox Content

Nekowemon Avatar Ecosystem

Company Original Characters can be expanded into Roblox content.

Roblox is a UGC platform used by users around the world and is attracting attention as a new promotional channel not only for game companies, but also for general businesses and local governments.

When expanding a Company Original Character into Roblox, companies must create their own content and develop an avatar compatible with the Ecosystem Model defined by Nekowemon Official (3D data using a shared mesh and shared rig).

This enables the Company Original Character to participate in the Nekowemon Avatar Ecosystem.

In the Nekowemon Avatar Ecosystem, each company’s content is envisioned as being connected to multiple games and other content through portals and similar mechanisms.

As a result, while operating their own content, companies may receive an influx of players from other content within the ecosystem, creating opportunities to reach new users.

Chapter 9: Required Licenses

Licenses Based on Your Creative Activities

To create and use Company Original Characters, a Basic License is required.

The Basic License serves as the foundation. If a company wishes to distribute advertisements or monetize content, an Extended License is required. If a company wishes to create, sell, or publish Deliverables, such as character merchandise or Roblox content, the applicable Project License is required.

Companies use the appropriate combination of licenses according to the type of creative activities they undertake.

Basic License

The Basic License is the fundamental license that enables companies to begin creative activities using Nekowemon characters.

While the Basic License is active, companies may create Company Original Characters at no additional cost.

With typical character licensing, the primary focus is on using character assets provided by the licensor. In Nekowemon, however, companies are free to depict Official Characters and use them in creative activities such as short animations and comics.

The Basic License includes the essential rights needed for companies to begin creative activities, including planning projects using Company Original Characters and Official Characters, depicting Official Characters, publishing content on websites, and sharing information through social media.

Once a Company Original Character has completed character registration, companies may showcase their creative activities and promote the character through websites, social media, and other channels.

Extended License

The Extended License is required when a company wishes to use Company Original Characters beyond the scope of the Basic License, such as for advertising or content monetization.

The Extended License primarily consists of the Advertising Promotion License and the Content Monetization License.

Advertising Promotion License

The Advertising Promotion License is required when using Nekowemon characters, including Company Original Characters, for paid advertising, such as social media advertisements and web advertisements, or when engaging influencers, PR agencies, or similar services for promotional activities.

Examples include:

• Social media advertisements on Instagram, Facebook, X, TikTok, and similar platforms
• YouTube advertisements
• Web advertisements displayed on websites or mobile applications
• Promotional activities by influencers
• Paid PR services

Posting images or videos through a company’s own social media accounts as regular posts is permitted under the Basic License.

Content Monetization License

The Content Monetization License is required when monetizing videos or digital content through third-party platforms.

Examples include:

• Monetization of YouTube videos through advertising revenue
• In-game purchases or item sales within Roblox content
• Ongoing content monetization through Google Play or the App Store

Simply uploading short animations or videos featuring Company Original Characters to YouTube is permitted under the Basic License.

Project License

A Project License is required when using Nekowemon characters, including Company Original Characters, to create, sell, or publish Deliverables such as products, digital content, or event materials.

Depending on the type of Deliverables and how they will be used, companies may require a Product Commercialization Project License, Digital Commercialization Project License, Event Project License, or Permanent Display Project License.

Creating Character Merchandise

A Product Commercialization Project License is required when creating character merchandise using Company Original Characters, such as plush toys, acrylic stands, keychains, stickers, stationery, apparel, or product packaging.

A Project License is also required when character merchandise is produced not for sale, but as campaign prizes, visitor giveaways, purchase bonuses, or other promotional items.

Regardless of the industry, creating merchandise featuring Company Original Characters provides an effective way to communicate with consumers and support promotional activities.

Creating Roblox Content

Roblox is more than just a game development platform. It is a platform where companies can use Company Original Characters to create interactive experiences, such as games and virtual environments, while building new forms of communication with consumers.

As creators, companies can also develop Roblox content featuring their own brands and Company Original Characters. Regardless of the industry, expressing a brand’s world as an interactive experience allows companies to deliver value and appeal that traditional advertising alone cannot convey.

A Digital Commercialization Project License is required to create and publish Roblox content using Company Original Characters.

If the Roblox content includes monetization, such as in-game purchases or item sales, a Content Monetization License is also required.

Using Company Original Characters for Events and Permanent Displays

An Event Project License is required when holding events featuring Company Original Characters and creating Deliverables such as photo spots, life-size character panels, banners, or display decorations.

Rather than simply delivering information through advertising, companies can provide experiences that consumers can actively enjoy and participate in through character merchandise, Roblox content, events, and other creative activities, creating ongoing communication between companies and consumers through their characters.
