Application Procedure (with Templates)

What Is an Application?

If you intend to produce and distribute deliverables as part of a project, you must submit an application in advance.

The application is used to organize and share with the official team what will be produced, how it will be produced, and how it will be distributed.

The submitted information serves as the basis for the subsequent review, supervision, and approval process.

Cases That Require an Application

An application is required when producing any of the following deliverables:

・Product
・Packaging
・Promotional Visuals
・Advertising Visuals
・Display Materials
・Distribution Materials
・Other similar deliverables

Uses That Do Not Require an Application (Within the Scope of the Basic License)

If you simply create artwork featuring the characters and post it on social media, no application is required.

However, even if the same visual is used, an application is required in the following cases:

・When it is distributed as an advertisement
・When it is used as distribution materials or display materials

When to Submit an Application

Submit your application once the following information has been determined:

・What will be produced
・What deliverables will be included
・How the characters will be used
・The overall design direction

Application Process (Important)

Please proceed in the following order.

Step 1: Separate the Deliverables

Separate the deliverables according to their intended use.

Example:

・Product
・Packaging
・Promotional Visual

Step 2: Prepare the Project Proposal

Please complete the following template.

Step 3: Prepare Information for Each Deliverable

Complete the following information for each deliverable.

Purpose of the Deliverable (Select the applicable option):

・Product (Item for Sale)
・Packaging (Box, Backing Card, etc.)
・Promotional Visual (For Distribution or Display)
・Advertising Visual (For Advertising Use)

Characters to Be Used:

Description of the Deliverable:

Design Materials:

(Sketches, Images, 3D Models, etc.)

Prepare this information separately for each deliverable.

Step 4: Prepare the Design Materials

Prepare one or more of the following:

・Rough Design
・Final Design Concept
・3D Model

Please ensure that the materials are clear enough for a third party to understand the design.

Step 5: Submit the Application

Once all of the above materials have been prepared, you may submit your Project Proposal.

What Happens After You Submit Your Application

After your application has been submitted, the process proceeds as follows:

・Content Review
・Revisions (if necessary)
・Final Review
・Approval
・Production Begins

Important Notes

Production must not begin until approval has been granted.
Separate deliverables according to their intended use.
Be sure to understand the difference between Advertising Visuals and other deliverables.
